WHITE / GREY / BLACK
So…
Apart from being stoked to FINALLY drop a new Jubilee release, I’m particularly excited about this newest one, cos it happens to be the first coming out on a new record label-ish type thingy we’ve started called: White/Grey/Black.
Along with this upcoming Jubilee E.P., a slew of exclusive releases from a number of great bands are already in works… Including Serena Maneesh, Giant Drag, Goon Moon, Gayrilla Biscuits, and The Icarus Line… From whom in particular, a handsomely packaged collection of un-released and rare recordings circa 2002-ish we’ll be putting out. A whoooole lotta other releases, with quite a few other killer bands are already in the works as well, but we won’t give away too much at once right now and spoil the surprise. This entire White/Grey/Black thing has been coming together so quick and nicely, it’s already looking like our discography will pass the double-digit mark before 2010 is even over. Yikes, or Yipee? Prolly a little of both. White/Grey/Black is a concept I’ve been kicking around for quite a few years now… And it’s full purpose, scope, and definition will slowly reveal itself in due time. The concept of a traditional “Record Label” to me is archaic, out-dated, and just plain boring. With White/Grey/Black, we intend to cover a lot more ground than just the typical procedure of manufacturing little plastic pieces of discs, and then trying to figure out a way of getting rid of all the boxes filled up with them. My partner in this new endeavor, is a friend by the name of Erik Andrews. Apart from being an equal conspirator to this whole crazy operation, he’s the only other guy on the planet I’ve ever known who owns every Oasis AND Chain Of Strength release. He’s also a pretty sharp dude with incredible ideas. Erik’s already run a successful label of his own, Coming Home, and is responsible for building and running an awesome Web-Store of which Jubilee, and a number of other groups, have been utilizing for some time now. Erik and I are both very eager to start unleashing some of our ideas on you. One of which of course will be the inevitable W/G/B website, from which this whole venture of ours will function as a “hub” of sorts. You can find that place here:
Obviously, there isn’t much to see over there at the moment, so just give us a moment to get that shit all Feng-Shui’ed properly. In the meantime, sign up for our mailing list if you’re interested in receiving info on any our forthcoming releases, and more. Cos once the website is properly up and running, there’s no telling what else you’ll be finding over there. Apart from all the gab pertaining to our own releases… At the moment, it looks like we’ll also be housing writings/opinions/praisings/etc., pertaining to a plethora of topics in the music/art/LIFE realm… Much of which won’t even necessarily fall underneath the umbrella of our own discography. It should be good fun, so don’t be scared to come along with us for the ride. We’ll talk at ya sooner than later about more of what we’ve got cookin’.
Thanks.
